As people are becoming more and more aware of how their food is produced, they are demanding higher standards of welfare for farm animals. So it’s great to see Woolworths supplying RSPCA Approved chicken to customers around Australia. Under the RSPCA’s Approved Farming Scheme, chickens are raised to higher welfare standards than conventional farming. As you can see in these first few episodes of our Good Food Series, the chickens on this farm in Victoria are able to scratch and dust bathe, move around freely, socialise, jump up and down on perches and generally display their natural behaviours, just like a chicken should.
