In response to the Covid19 outbreak, a raft of global celebrities including Ricky Gervais, Judi Dench, Jane Goodall and Olivia Newton John came together to support Animals Asia’s call to address the root cause of the crisis – our mistreatment of animals. 75% of emerging pathogens affecting humans are zoonotic – crossing over from animals. The rate of these diseases is increasing because of our increased contact with wild animals due to habitat destruction, and from domestic species through intensive farming techniques. We have to be kinder to animals and the environment if we are to avoid more disasters like this. The Only Cure Is Kindness.
